When Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was questioned at the Newark airport in the US last month, while visiting to perform in the South Asian Carnival, speculation followed that he was held back due to suspicions about potential criminal links of the event’s promoters. But the London-based promoter of the show, Farhath Hussain, argues he’s unlikely to be on America’s watchlist. I honestly believe that these concerts and their promoters are just fads and a waste of time and money! They charge ridiculous amouts of money on their tickets – I’m sorry, no offence SRK or to others, but I’m not paying £250 to watch you guys mime! Why not just watch your films where i’m actually getting my monies worth! All these shows is just another means of making money. There is no need to tour, you guys are actors, not singers or rock stars! You don’t see Richard Gere or Julia Roberts touring around th world with concerts do you? So why should Bollywood stars be an exception? As far as Farhath Hussian is concerned, he moved to the US from the UK because he was getting hasseled by police here. I don’t know what the truth, but I do believe that these promoters are no good charing the amount they do and getting away with it. If SRK has any sense, he will stop doing such shows and quit associating himself with such people!. If you really want to meet and greet fans back your own shows such as Temptations or simply hold your film premiers as you do in England. That’s a great way to show you appreciate your fans.
