After burning his hands with Ashutosh Gowariker’s Swades (2004) which flopped at the box-office, Shah Rukh has flatly refused to work with the director for his next venture. Ashutosh offered SRK a role in a period film with Rani Mukerji as his screen partner, but after Swades, Shah Rukh isn’t taking any chances. Ashutosh also offered him incentives to make up for the experience. Our source said, “Ashutosh even told Shah Rukh that they could co-produce the film and he had no issues with Shah Rukh’s style of working on commission basis. But even this did not evoke a favourable response.”
While Shah Rukh Khan remained unavailable for comment, Ashutosh Gowariker chose not to speak. Read more.

I don’t know if you lot saw nokia star screen awards this yr, but Ashutosh gets pissed very easily do you lot remember? when ashutosh and farah’s brother, sajid khan had a argument infront of so many people over sajid cracking few jokes and ashutosh got so pissed in the awards show and Farah had to stand up for her brother cos ashutosh was bein rude to him and plus srk uncle is a very close friend to farah. I’m glad he said no to that ashutosh man. I don’t really like his movies, its too serious and stuff. I love farah’s movies they are wayyy better than ashutosh’s movies and because they are more entertaining and fun to watch whereas ashutosh makes more serious, boring movies ! I like the pairing of srk uncle and rani mukerjhee together but only in karan johar ’s movies or in yash raj films or even if farah khan decided to cast them together.
I don’t like ashutosh cos he can’t even take a joke and i don’t think srk uncle would have fun working with people like that. Srk uncle you did the right thing by saying no to that serious man !

Srk Ji, Plz Plz do this movie. I really want you to see your and ashu combo onscreen after Swades and i’m sure much of your fans also have such desire. I know u’re already producing/co-producing a lot of flicks like of Farah, Anubhav and Karan but i think u must eliminate anyone of them may be Anubhav’s RA.1 and replace it with Ashu’s. It’s a very very humble request from me and billions of your fans.
